1. Overview
Joining and Corrosion Protection (JCP) is a fully Open Access journal.
To support editorial management, peer review administration, production, website hosting, DOI registration, and long-term content preservation, the journal may charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.
No fees are charged at submission.
APCs are payable only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication.
DOI registration costs are included within the APC where applicable. No additional DOI fee will be charged separately.
2. APC Schedule
| Publication Period | APC (USD) |
|---|---|
| Launch Period (until 31 July 2027) | Free |
| From 1 August 2027 | USD 800 |
The Publisher reserves the right to adjust APC rates in the future. Any changes will be announced on the journal website prior to implementation.
3. Waivers and Discounts
The journal is committed to supporting equitable participation in scholarly publishing.
Full or partial APC waivers may be available for:
- authors from low-income economies (based on World Bank classifications);
- early-career researchers;
- invited submissions;
- special promotional programs;
- other cases approved by the Editorial Office.
Waiver requests should be submitted before peer review begins.
4. Editorial Independence
The payment, reduction, or waiver of APCs has no influence on editorial decisions.
All manuscripts are evaluated solely on:
- scientific quality;
- originality;
- methodological rigor;
- relevance to the journal scope;
- compliance with ethical standards.
5. Refund Policy
Once an article has entered production following acceptance, APC payments are generally non-refundable.
Requests for exceptional consideration will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
