1. Copyright Ownership
Authors retain copyright of all articles published in Joining and Corrosion Protection (JCP).
Publication in the journal does not transfer copyright ownership to the publisher.
Authors remain the copyright holders of their work.
2. Publishing License
Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors grant the Publisher a non-exclusive license to:
- publish the article;
- identify itself as the original publisher;
- distribute and archive the published version;
- assign and maintain publication metadata and DOI records;
- preserve the scholarly record.
This license enables publication while allowing authors to retain ownership of their work.

Unless otherwise stated, articles published in JCP are distributed under the:

4. Rights Retained by Authors
Authors retain the right to:
- reuse their work in future publications;
- distribute the published article;

- deposit the article in institutional repositories;

No additional permission from the publisher is required for these activities.
5. Rights Granted to Readers and Third Parties
Under the CC BY 4.0 License, readers and third parties may:
- copy and redistribute the material;
- adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the material;
- use the material for commercial or non-commercial purposes;
provided that:
- appropriate credit is given;
- a link to the license is provided;

6. Third-Party Materials
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use copyrighted materials owned by third parties, including:

- datasets;

7. Author Warranties
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:
- the work is original;
- the work does not infringe the rights of others;
- all necessary permissions have been obtained;
- all authors approve submission and publication;
- the manuscript complies with the journal's ethical standards.
8. Repository and Self-Archiving Policy
Authors may deposit:
- submitted manuscripts (preprints);
- accepted manuscripts;
- published articles;
in:
- institutional repositories;
- subject repositories;
- personal websites;
- academic networking platforms;
without embargo.
Where possible, authors should include:
- citation information;
- DOI link;
- reference to the journal version of record.
9. Corrections and Retractions
Copyright ownership remains with the authors following publication of:
- Corrections;
- Expressions of Concern;
- Retractions.
The Publisher retains the right to maintain, update, and preserve the scholarly record in accordance with the journal's Corrections and Retractions Policy.
